The DNA Web App will automatically remind the participants that need a little nudging to complete their discoveries. Learn how this works and how to control this setting in your account.
Procrastination is a common human trait and something we must all account for when assigning tasks to others. We recognize that some individuals need a few reminders to complete their Natural Behavior discoveries. Therefore, our system efficiently nudges participants to complete their discoveries, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
The DNA Web App offers a wealth of participant data, but it is only accessible once a discovery is completed. Fortunately, the DNA Web App now includes a new feature that automates reminder emails to prompt participants to complete their assessments if they leave their discovery unfinished.
This feature will be introduced into the Web app on August 15, 2023. Participants that started or revisited their discovery (and answered at least 1 question) after this release date can receive these automated reminders.
Here's how it works:
-
When a participant attempts but does not complete the questionnaire, the system will send them a reminder email 2 hours after their last attempt.
-
If the participant still has not completed the questionnaire after 48 hours, they will receive another reminder email.
-
These reminder emails will continue to be sent every 48 hours until the questionnaire is completed or until the participant opts out of receiving reminder emails.
Participants can stop these messages:
Note that participants have the ability to opt out of receiving these messages, which will prevent them from being sent to that participant. To opt-out, users will simply select a link to stop these emails.
As a named user of the DNA Web App, you can control the reminder emails:
In your Account Settings page, access the Email Settings on the left panel of the Settings menu.
- Turning off and on the Reminder Emails:
Toggle on and off the Automated Reminder Emails to turn them on and off for your account. This settings is account based, meaning you have the option to turn these emails completely on or off for your entire account. All participants are impacted regardless of which self registration link they are using. - Customizing the language in the Reminder Email:
As a default option, participants will receive the email provided below. However, you have the flexibility to personalize the first paragraph with your own content, limited to 1,000 characters. Feel free to replace the existing text with your customized message and remember to save the changes.

What if a participant is a member of more than one account?
In the unlikely event that a participant is a member of multiple accounts and has not completed their discovery, your account's reminder emails may not be sent. Each account can opt in or out of these messages, and if any of the participant's accounts have opted out, no emails will be sent. Unfortunately, you do not have control over this default policy. In such cases, we suggest that you reach out to the participant outside of the system to encourage them to complete the discovery.
